Privacy-first

Tracking that respects the person scanning

You want to know which code worked. You do not need to know who scanned it. Scanlo counts scans without cookies and without storing anyone’s IP address, so your customers are never tracked across the web and you never need a consent banner.

  • No cookies on a scan
  • No raw IP address is ever stored
  • No consent banner needed

What a scan records

When someone scans a code, the redirect works out the country and the network it came from at the edge, then discards the IP address before anything is saved. What is stored is enough to compare placements and nothing more.

  • Which code, and when
  • Country and network, never the IP itself
  • Device type and operating system
  • Whether it looks like a bot

Nothing follows the customer

A scan sets no cookie and runs no tracking script, and the redirect adds no identifier to your destination. The customer lands on your review, booking or payment page exactly as if they had typed it.

On which plan

Questions

Do I need a cookie banner for Scanlo QR codes?
No. A scan sets no cookie and stores no IP address, so there is nothing to ask consent for.
Can Scanlo identify the person who scanned?
No. We never store an IP address or set a cookie, so a scan cannot be tied to a person, by us or by you.
Where can I read the details?
Our privacy policy at scanlo.io/privacy lists exactly what is collected and why.
