I built Scanlo after seeing the same thing at almost every small business I worked with: a QR code by the register, on the invoice, on the van. Nobody knew if anyone scanned it, and the day the link behind it changed, it quietly stopped working.
A code you put out in the world should tell you it works, and it should never break. That is the whole product.

A QR code out in the real world is a blind channel. A payment sticker by the register, a code on an invoice, a booking flyer through the mailbox. You put it out there, and then nothing. No click report, no conversion pixel, no idea which spot brought in the review, the booking or the payment.
Our mission is to give every placement the feedback loop the web has always had. Every Scanlo code is tracked and labeled by placement, so you can compare the counter against the invoice against the flyer, and put your next code in the spot that actually works.

A printed Scanlo code keeps redirecting forever, on every plan, even if you cancel. We will never break something you already paid to print.

No creepy tracking

How it started
Scanlo comes from the maker of Remindlo, an SMS reminder service that helps service businesses cut no-shows and bring past customers back. Working with those businesses, we kept noticing the same thing: everyone uses QR codes now. Review cards, booking flyers, payment stickers on the counter.
And almost every one of those codes was made on a free generator: static, untracked, and one URL change away from being a dead square of ink. Nobody could say which placement earned a single scan. So in 2026 we built the QR tool we wished those businesses had.
Before Scanlo
Peter has been building things from scratch since he was a teenager. In 2004 he started sport.czest.pl, a local sports site for Częstochowa in Poland that grew into a small newsroom covering volleyball, football and youth sport.
He then spent fifteen years at LiveChat (now Text), starting on the support desk and moving to whatever the company needed built next: a support team that answered around the clock, HR, legal and administration, and later a sales team. That is where the habit behind Scanlo comes from: if you cannot measure whether something works, you are guessing. His open-source projects are on GitHub.
Why now
Everything you want a customer to do next lives behind a link now. Reviews are a Google link, bookings are a Calendly link, payments are a PayPal or Stripe link. A QR code is simply how the physical world carries a link, which is why codes are suddenly everywhere: counters, vans, invoices, shop windows.
But most of those codes are fire and forget. A static code cannot tell you it was scanned, and it cannot be fixed when the link behind it changes. If you are going to put a code in front of customers, it should report back and it should never break.

Who is behind Scanlo?

What happens to my printed codes if I cancel?
They keep working. A Scanlo code keeps redirecting forever on every plan, including the free one and after a cancellation. Only editing, analytics depth and branding depend on your plan.
How is Scanlo different from a free QR code generator?
A free generator gives you a static image with no idea whether anyone scanned it, and a new print run if the link changes. A Scanlo code reports every scan by placement, and you can change where it points without reprinting.
Do you track the people who scan my codes?
No personal tracking. We never store a scanner's IP address and scanning sets no cookies. We record the country, device type, referring page and time of each scan so you can see which placement works.
