# What's New in Scanlo: October 2026

**Quick answer**

Your scan numbers by email every month, sign-in with Google, payment apps that open from Chrome on iPhone, an optional hub footer on Standard, and Scanlo inside Claude and ChatGPT.

October was about what happens after a code goes up: finding out what it did without having to go looking, and removing the small things that stand between a scan and a payment, a review or a booking.

## **Your Scan Numbers, in Your Inbox**

You should not have to log in to find out whether your code works. So now the numbers come to you.

- **A monthly scan report.** In the first days of each month you get an email with last month's scans for every code, hub taps included. Automated hits from crawlers and link previews are counted separately and left out, so the number you read is people. If a code was not scanned at all, the email says so plainly and suggests where it might do better, because a zero almost always means the placement, not the code.

- **A weekly recap on Standard.** Every Monday, Standard accounts get last week's scans, sent only for weeks when something was actually scanned. A quiet week means no email.

- **Each one has its own off switch.** The link at the bottom of each email turns off that email only. Turning off the weekly recap keeps the monthly report, and neither link touches your codes or your account.

**iPhone scans are counted more accurately.** Scans from iPhones using iCloud Private Relay leave from the same networks that automated traffic often uses, and some were being flagged as automated and left out of the count of people. They are now counted as people, and scans already recorded were corrected.

## **Payment Codes and Hubs That Work on More Phones**

- **Payment apps now open from Chrome on iPhone.** A Venmo, PayPal or Cash App link is meant to open the app on your pay screen. Safari does that. Chrome on iPhone did not: after a camera scan it showed the App Store instead, and the payment flow was lost. Now people scanning in Chrome see one button, **Open Venmo** (or PayPal, or Cash App), and one tap opens the app. Nothing changes for Safari.

- **A warning for the Venmo app's own QR code.** The code the Venmo app shows you is not a link to your profile. It only opens for people who already have Venmo installed; everyone else lands in an app store with no way to see who to pay. Paste that link into Scanlo and you now see a warning suggesting your profile link instead: venmo.com/u/ followed by your username. It is advice, not a block, so you can still save it.

- **Hide "Powered by Scanlo" on your hubs (**[**Standard**](https://scanlo.io/pricing)**).** A hub page shows a small "Powered by Scanlo" line at the bottom. On Standard plan you can now untick it in the hub's settings. Nothing disappears on its own when you upgrade: the line stays until you untick it and save. Free hubs keep it.

- **Upgrades take effect within a minute.** On the Free plan, people who scan your code see a short Scanlo page before they reach your link. After you upgrade, that page now goes away within about a minute. Before, it could linger for up to a day.

- **Better link previews for hubs.** Share a hub's link in a message and the preview now shows a card for that kind of hub (payment, review, tip or donation) instead of a generic image.

## **Sign In With Google, and Password Resets From** [**scanlo.io**](http://scanlo.io)

- **Continue with Google.** The sign-up and log-in pages have a Google button, and the whole sign-in happens on [scanlo.io](http://scanlo.io). If you already have a Scanlo account under the same address, signing in with Google opens that same account, with your codes and plan: nothing is duplicated.

- **Password resets come from** [**scanlo.io**](http://scanlo.io)**.** The reset email links to a page on [scanlo.io](http://scanlo.io), and the link is only used up when you actually set a new password. Some email security filters open every link in a message to check it, which used to spend a reset link before you ever clicked it. That can no longer happen.

- **A new My profile page.** It shows how you sign in and which apps can use your account, and lets you remove any of them.

## **Scanlo in Claude and ChatGPT**

You can now manage your codes by talking to **Claude**, **ChatGPT** or **Claude Code**: create a code or a hub, point a code at a new link without reprinting it, or ask how your codes were scanned this month and which hub buttons people tap.

- **On every plan, including Free.** Your plan's limits apply exactly as they do in the dashboard, and every destination goes through the same safety check.

- **Nothing can be deleted from an assistant.** A misread request cannot make a printed code disappear.

- **You stay in control.** Add Scanlo from the Claude connector directory, or in ChatGPT as a custom connector, then sign in to Scanlo and approve it. Every connection is listed under **My profile, Connected apps**, where you can remove it. Disconnecting inside the assistant only makes it forget its access; removing it in Scanlo is what ends it.

For developers there is also a REST API with the same operations, on every plan.

## **Switching Off a Code Frees Its Slot**

There used to be two ways to put a code aside, and they did confusing things. Now there is one switch.

- **Deactivate** a code or hub and anyone who scans it sees a page saying the link is no longer available. It no longer counts toward your plan.

- **Turn it back on** whenever you like, as long as your plan has room for it.

Codes you had archived before this change were kept working, exactly as archiving promised, and now show as active.

## **No Printer? Order Prints**

The download tab has a new **Order prints** option for when you would rather not print your code yourself: a sticker, business card, poster, window cling, tabletop sign or magnet, made and shipped by Zazzle. The print carries the same code as your download, so you can still change where it points after it arrives, and it keeps working on any plan.

## **Smaller Improvements**

- **The dashboard fits a phone.** On small screens the dashboard's top links fold into a menu button instead of colliding with the logo.

- **A dashboard tab left open across an update reloads itself** instead of failing to open the next page.

- **The pricing page answers the billing questions**: sales tax and VAT, monthly versus yearly, cancelling, and what happens to your codes if you downgrade (they keep working).

- **New pages on the site:** [features](https://scanlo.io/features), pages for [coffee shops](https://scanlo.io/for/coffee-shops), [restaurants](https://scanlo.io/for/restaurants), [personal trainers](https://scanlo.io/for/personal-trainers) and [gymnastics gyms](https://scanlo.io/for/gymnastics-gyms), and [scan data](https://scanlo.io/scan-data), where we publish what our own scan logs show and how we counted it.

## **What This Means for You**

Watch for your monthly report in the first days of each month. If it says a code had no scans, try it somewhere people already stop and hold their phone: the counter, the table, the receipt.

If you have a Venmo code or a payment hub, open it once in the dashboard. If you see the new warning under the Venmo link, swap in your profile link. It takes a minute and it is the difference between a payment and an App Store page.

And if you already use Claude or ChatGPT for work, connect Scanlo and ask it how your codes did this month.
